Taking a few more steps with Sass and learning new things

It’s taken me a while to get onboard with CSS pre-processors like LESS and Sass. I wrote about LESS or Sass or neither two years ago (!) and I’ve not, until recently, moved on from that position. Yet, I have been changing the way that I work and part of that is being better organised.

As a result, I’m now using Sass partials and actively seeking to use more aspects of Sass where it make sense. I doubt if I will be writing killer mixins any time soon but from little acorns… as they say.

As a final thought, I’ve wondered why it takes me a long time to change things. I’ve come to the conclusion that I am often so busy ‘running round’ to get client work done that I don’t allocate enough time for learning new things. It’s a freelancer thing I guess. I spend a lot of time running the business and taking “time off” to learn new things feels like non-productive, non-earning time.
